Welcome to the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.

We post the Hatena Featured Artist every week on Wednesday, and hope to introduce a variety of different artists that will inspire and entertain you.

Be sure to check here every week to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!

Today's Hatena Featured Artist is Millefiori (id:Zalmiacci) from the Europe and Oceania region.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I'm a 14 year old girl from the northern part of Finland.

What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?

I'm into sculpting things from clay, reading, writing, daydreaming and of course drawing. I can't imagine a better way to spend my day than drawing, painting, or making a Flipnote!

Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.

★ This was my second Flipnote I posted, and the first one I liked. Now it seems quite rough, but hey, practice makes perfect!

★ "P/Biggy Bank" - I made this for a good friend of mine, Biggy, who I haven't seen here for a while. The sounds were made with a real piggy bank! That grin in the end is just adorable...

★ "Cheerink" - This took a while to make but it was really worth it.

★ "Exposure" - This was my first Flipnote to be featured in the Flipnote Hatena Weekly News.

★ "A Cup Made of Tea" - A cup made of tea. It sort of leaves nothing left to say. I'm not good at animating fluids, but I think this came out well.

What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?

Drawing and creating my own stories and ideas is my strongest point. The problem is that I can't make even half of my ideas into Flipnotes, or I can't finish them.

What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve, try, or learn to do in order make your Flipnotes better?

I really need to keep practicing. I want to learn how to smoothly animate people in motion, and improve my drawing skills.

Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Flipnote Hatena , and tell us why you like them or their Flipnotes.

Hope 12349 (id:flowerpix) - Hope is a wonderful person and my first friend on Hatena. Her drawings always bring a smile to my face.

mrjohn (id:mrjohn) - His animations are simply marvelous! I love his animations and often find myself wondering how they can be so brilliant.

judgedredd (id:judgedredd) - I envy her ability to draw in the "comic" style. I hope I can someday draw in that style too if I practice more.

Simon (id:simon-a) - After a tiring day at school I love to watch his adventures with his dog, Tara. That really cheers me up!

bluindaco (id:bluindaco) - How good can one be at drawing? Bluindaco has gone beyond all the limits.

Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?

I nearly fell off my chair when I heard that I would be interviewed, and I want to thank Hatena for this opportunity!

It doesn't matter whether other people speak your mother tongue or not, because the language of Flipnotes speaks for itself! Flipnotes are so much more than just animations, and you can find all kinds of things like music videos, stickman fights, animated series, drawings, tutorials, secret hints, and self-made music.

Flipnote Hatena is a great community, and I'm proud to be a part of it!
