Please tell us a little about yourself.
Hello. My name is Steven. I am 41 years old and live in Alabama. I help take care of individuals who have learning disabilities.
What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?
Bicycle is my religion and vegan is my political view. In my spare time I enjoy reading books on Tibetan Buddhism and making Flipnotes.
Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.
★ "Tea Room" - I wanted to make something other than a chat room or a mailbox. The tea pot is one a friend had made for me. I put it on a Lazy Susan (a rotating table) and took pictures as I rotated it.
★ "TV Spirit" - This is my first Flipnote I made with the Nintendo DSi Camera application. I was sitting in a chair at the group home where I was working and I took many pictures. I experimented with drawing over it.
★ "Goat Snack" - One day I pulled up to the goat farm that is on my way to work and I took a lot of photos with the Nintendo DSi Camera. I like ants so I included them as art.
★ "Tibetan Bell" - This Flipnote was selected as a winner for Weekly Topic: Bells. I used a Tibetan singing bowl and a Tibetan bell for the sounds. I was after a meditative feel.
★ "Flying Flowers" - I like the peaceful feeling of this early animation about flying flowers.
★ "Mimes Go-Cart" - A friend of mine acted this out for me so I could make it into a Flipnote. He is sitting in a chair outside and he scoots it forward in each frame. I drew in all of the vehicle effects.
What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?
I feel that I am good at coming up with artistic concepts. I also learn quickly which has helped me improve my skills with the Nintendo DSi Camera rapidly.
What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve, try, or learn to do in order make your Flipnotes better?
I would like to be a better animator. I'm not that great. I tend to let the Nintendo DSi Camera do as much of the work as possible.
Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Flipnote Hatena, and tell us why you like them or their Flipnotes.
★ りÂÑíもレ (id:Dannyboi) - I like the Flipnotes this creator makes with the Nintendo DSi Camera application. He is always experimenting with the camera's potential. He probably understands what it can do more than anyone.
★ LU～BU (id:ktptgb) - This account is actually used together by two brothers. Although they are fairly new to Hatena, they have produced some amazing and imaginative animations.
★ 123...go! (id:Skeletorsbone) - This creator uses Flipnotes to make short films using the Nintendo DSi Camera application. They are very fun to watch.
★ Luv Monkey (id:kalyfr) - I love this creator's classical art style. Her talent is unquestionable, and her Flipnotes appeal to all ages.
★ fred (id:blankenburg) - This creator is America's unequaled master of mixed media. He has well over 500 Flipnotes, many of which feature original music.
Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?
I encourage everyone to experiment, especially with the Nintendo DSi Camera application. You do not have to be a great animator to make a great Flipnote. An original concept can go far!
