Welcome to the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.
We post the Hatena Featured Artist every week on Wednesday, and hope to introduce a variety of different artists that will inspire and entertain you.
Be sure to check here every week to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!
Today's Hatena Featured Artist is Hallelu (id:Cacaduck) from the Americas region.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
Hi there! I live in Ohio and I am 14 years old. My name is Hallelu because I was listening to a song titled "Hallelujah" when trying to come up with a username. I am the second oldest among my two brothers, I also have two dogs and two cats. I love drawing and I have learned so much about animating thanks to Hatena. It's fun to go back to my older Flipnotes and see how much I have improved. I hope to be an inspiration and encourage others to improve as well.
What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?
I enjoy traveling, writing, art and photography, and I am a figure skater and aspiring actress. When I am not practicing I usually use my free time to draw and create Flipnotes. I have always loved art and expressing myself through my imagination. Other than that you'll probably find me asleep on a couch somewhere with my cat.
Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.
★ I couldn't sleep because of a dog barking, so I stayed up until 4:00 in the morning making this. I really like this Flipnote, I had never animated one of my life experiences before.
★ I love drawing landscapes and things in nature. I created this for the Weekly Topic: Picnic.
★ I created this very random Flipnote for the Weekly Topic: Soup. I love pandas, so this was fun to make.
★ I created this Flipnote to show how I created one of my drawings. I am happy with the way it turned out.
★ This is a quick illustration of a girl. I tried to draw the person to look like me, since I have the same hair style. I really enjoyed experimenting with different colors in this Flipnote.
What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?
I think I do best with slower movement in my animations, and my Flipnotes usually have many frames. I try to re-draw each frame so it looks more realistic, and I like that style.
What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve, try, or learn to do in order make your Flipnotes better?
There's always room for improvement! In the future I hope to be better at effects and learn to draw people better in different ways such as anime, cartoon, or chibi style.
Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Flipnote Hatena, and tell us why you like them or their Flipnotes.
Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?
I haven't been posting for too long, and there have been times where I lost all motivation and not posted anything for a long time. But in the time I have been on Hatena I have learned so much and my art skills have really improved. Even though Flipnote Hatena is closing soon I just want to say that to all the artists out there that you should still keep on drawing and creating!
