This past week we released Flipnote Central for the Americas region, and also the DSi LL (known outside of Japan as the DSi XL) was released by Nintendo, which comes pre-installed with the Japanese version of Flipnote Studio (called Ugoku Memocho). We haven't tried creating Flipnotes on the DSi LL yet, but think that it will be fun to create and watch Flipnotes with the new, large screen.
In this week's edition of the Flipnote Hatena news blog, we're going to show you some of our favorite Flipnotes based on last weeks topic "Surprises", and introduce our new topic for this week which is "Junk Food & Snacks."
If you post Flipnotes about the weekly topic, we might feature yours here on the Flipnote Hatena Weekly News blog next week -- post your Flipnotes and join in the fun!
Lastly, scroll to the bottom of this blog entry to see the fourth week of our new section titled Weekly Frog Sightings where we want to feature original frog photos from users like you.
We're looking forward to seeing your original photos of frog related stuff from around the world, so please post yours on Hatena Haiku (post to the keyword "Frog Sightings") and we might feature it here next week.

"Surprises" Flipnotes from the Americas region:
★ You'll be surprised by unexpected ending of this Flipnote by Buster (id:Buster013), about a mishap during breakfast. Too much curiosity can get you into trouble...
★ In honor of Thanksgiving in the United States we are happy to present this Flipnote by sacuL Fri (id:sacuL), which is a nicely illustrated animation about a turkey on a dark and stormy night.
★ We enjoyed "Super Sheep!" by helium (id:galliummoon) about what happens when farm animals power up. Also, we liked the catchy tune -- haven't we heard that music somewhere before in that game with characters animated by Yoichi Kotabe?
"Surprises" Flipnotes from the Europe and Oceania region:
★ We really liked the animation and design in this amazing animation of a ball-like creature by m×a (id:av88), which is full of surprises at every turn.
★ We liked this Flipnote that reminded us of the surreal artwork of Salvador Dalí by Light Y (id:MoonlightCore), with it's wavily drawn animation and surprising ending.
★ The snowman in this Flipnote by Trudi (id:Trudi) will make your head spin. We're looking forward to seeing more Flipnotes from this creator.
"Surprises" Flipnotes from Japan:
★ HYDROGEN (id:hydrogen11) reminds us not to watch television in the dark in the nicely illustrated titles "Atto Odoroku" ("Surprisingly surprised"). Surprisingly great work!
★ Jesse (id:puffystarspeed) retells the famous children's tale of "Humpty Dumpty" in this tragically surprising Flipnote.
★ A cat is in for a bit of surprise in this amazing Flipnote by Pan with amazing illustrations and a twisted theme that made us laugh.
