Hello from all of us at Hatena in Kyoto, Japan, and thanks for checking out our weekly news blog.
We're getting ready for the Golden Week holiday here in Japan, and many members of the Flipnote Hatena team will be enjoying some well earned days off, relaxing somewhere -- preferably not in front of a computer or a Nintendo DSi!
This past week we looked at 100's of different insect Flipnotes to choose the best ones to show you, and are feeling a little bit itchy now. Thanks to all of you for posting such great stuff -- we had a great time watching your Flipnotes!
Lastly, we get a lot of email here at Hatena and we do our best to answer everyone individually, but it takes a lot of our time. We recently created a new FAQ on our website that should answer many of your questions about problems you have using Flipnote Hatena. You can check out our new FAQ at the URL below:
Also, you can access Hatena Haiku, our mini-blogging service and some users there might be able to help you. You can check out Hatena Haiku at http://h.hatena.com or by clicking on the image below:
This week's new themes
We released four new themes in the Color Star Exchange today that we hope you'll like.
- The first new theme is a special theme featuring a dinosaur that will grow and change five times as you post more Flipnotes. You can exchange 50 color stars to use this theme in your Creator's Room.
- The second new theme this week will inspire you to get on the dance floor, and show your moves under funky colored spotlights and a mirror ball. You can exchange 10 color stars for this theme.
- The third new theme this week features a variety of different pixel art characters, enjoying a beautiful sunny day. This theme was created by Flipnote Hatena team director Teppei Ninomiya and Hatena chief designer T.Ikeda and can be exchanged for 20 color stars.
- The fourth new theme this week has lace and pretty spring flowers to brighten up your Creator's Room. You can exchange 10 color stars for this theme.
Thanks from all of us on the Flipnote Hatena team, and we're looking forward to seeing your Flipnotes!
