Hello Flipnote Hatena users! My name is Miguel and I really enjoy making Flipnotes with Flipnote Studio.
I’m 17 years old and I live in Belgium. I have always loved drawing and will always continue to draw, because it’s my favorite thing to do!
How do get ideas for your Flipnotes?
I try to make Flipnotes about things that I experience and see during my daily life. For example when it was cold and snowing outside, I created my Flipnote “Home”.
I usually begin making my Flipnotes by sketching some characters, and I keep drawing until I come up with something that I like. After that I create short stories with my characters, because that’s what I enjoy the most.
When I don’t have any inspiration, I try to make Flipnotes about the Hatena Weekly Topic. It’s really fun to see how people get lots of different ideas with these topics!
What do you do in your free time?
When I’m not creating Flipnotes, I’m usually drawing in my sketchbook, where I gather all my little ideas.
When I’m not drawing, I like to be with my friends, who always support me.
In the evening I really enjoy watching animated movies, and my favorite ones are "Les Triplettes de Belleville (The Triplets of Belleville)" and "The Nightmare Before Christmas".
What kind of Flipnotes do you want/like to create?
Most of my Flipnotes now feature some short stories, but I actually want to create Flipnotes with a longer story.
I might make some Flipnotes based on a long story that I made for my entrance exam for the school where I’m going to study animation from next year.
I also hope to improve my Flipnote making skills, and I would really like to add some more movement to them.
What Nintendo DSi games have you played recently and which one is your all-time favorite?
I really enjoy playing games when I have time for that. I recently played “The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks", and I’m a really big fan of the Zelda series.
When I’m playing a game, I like to escape from the real world and just have some fun! My all-time favorite is “Animal Crossing: Wild World”. This game makes me so happy! I really enjoy chatting with my neighbors and watering my flowers.
As you know, Hatena is based in Kyoto, Japan. Have you ever been to Japan? If you get a chance to visit here, what is the first thing or place you like to check out?
I regret that I have never been outside of Europe. When I’m a bit older, I would really like to visit some places like Kyoto!
I’m really interested in cultures other than mine, and I would like to learn about them. When I finally get to Kyoto, I would like to visit some of the temples there.
Is there anybody you would like to greet or something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?
Flipnote Hatena has always been (and still is) a great community! Thanks to the Hatena I’ve met some amazing friends and I’ve discovered many talented people. I'd like to thank the Hatena Staff!
