March 30, 2012: Flipnote Hatena Weekly News

Hello, this is Aaron at Hatena in Kyoto with a brand new edition of the Flipnote Hatena weekly news.

The channel system on Flipnote Hatena is designed to allow everyone to organize their Flipnotes by theme. There are currently over 200,000 channels on Flipnote Hatena, and you should certainly be able to find one that matches the topic of your Flipnotes when you post.

Many people post their Flipnotes to multiple channels in attempts to make them popular. Posting Flipnotes to many channels in itself is not a bad thing, and it makes your work more visible. However, posting Flipnotes to channels that have no relation to the content of your Flipnotes is a great annoyance to the Flipnote Hatena community.

You can help us to improve the channels on Flipnote Hatena by doing the following:

  • (1) All Flipnote Hatena users can help by not posting Flipnotes to unrelated channels. We understand that you wish for your Flipnotes to be seen by many people and be popular, but please do not carelessly post Flipnotes to the wrong place. Posting to unrelated channels ruins the enjoyment of others in the Flipnote Hatena community.
  • (2) If you are a Flipnote Citizen and have made channels on Flipnote Hatena please do your best to monitor the Flipnotes posted to your channels. Please unlink Flipnotes that are not related to the content of your channels and keep them organized.
  • (3) Please do not create meaningless channels or duplicate channels. Before you create a channel please use the search function on the Flipnote Hatena website and see if a similar channel already exists. Also, please do not create channels with themes such as 'Post Anything' or 'Add Stars' as this makes it difficult to find Flipnotes with related themes, and goes against the concept of how channels should be used.

Thank you for your cooperation with helping to keep channels on Flipnote Hatena organized.

Thanks for checking out the news blog, from all of us at Hatena.
