Welcome to the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.
We post the Hatena Featured Artist every week on Wednesday, and hope to introduce a variety of different artists that will inspire and entertain you.
Be sure to check here every week to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!
Today's Hatena Featured Artist is Nitram (id:Nitram) from the Europe and Oceania Region.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
Hello, I'm Nitram (Martin). I'm from the Netherlands and 33 years old. I work at a big insurance company.
What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?
I sit behind a desk most of the day, so I like to go jogging after work. Jogging is good because I can clear my head and lose some weight at the same time.
I like to read books, watch movies and play fantasy or horror games. I also enjoy music, and of course, art and making Flipnotes.
Please introduce 5 or more of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.
★ "Dingetje" ("Thing" in English) - I like tattoo art and made many Flipnotes like this, but I really like this one. To make this I copied and pasted the same shape several times, and then added a glow effect.
★ "Vliegende bloedpomp" ("Flying Bloodpump" in English) - This is made using the same technique as Dingetje. To make things symmetrical I drew half of the image, copied it to another page, mirrored the image, and pasted it to the first image on the first page.
★ "Blokjes" ("Blocks" in English) - I wanted to make block animation Flipnotes like those by Mick58 (id:mickinderby) but could not do it, so I made this block animation in my own style. It takes a lot of time to create the effect of the blocks glowing.
★ "Poppin'" - This is a character that I draw often. I've made some other Flipnotes in which he does strange things with his eyes, but they never popped out of his head before!
★ "ATBII (At the Beach Part II)" - This features the same character I always draw. The sound of "the object" hitting his face was made by slapping myself in the face. When I look at this flip I feel the pain in my cheek again.
What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?
What I do best are tattoo-art style Flipnotes with a glowing background. Recently I made a tutorial about how to make these, so anyone who would like to make that effect can learn the technique and try it out.
What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve, try, or learn to do in order make your Flipnotes better?
I'd love to make a Flipnote with more animation, or a figure in motion. I'm too lazy to try though.
Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Flipnote Hatena , and tell us why you like them or their Flipnotes.
★ Mick58 (id:mickinderby) makes the best block Flipnotes on Hatena and he's a very nice guy.
★ Katt (id:Katt2) is the sweetest lady on Hatena, and she has a very unique style.
★ Simon (id:simon-a) makes amazing Flipnotes and always makes me laugh.
★ I like the way judgedredd (id:judgedredd) uses colour in her flips.
★ Dee (id DeeVonnell) is the funniest person on Hatena.
