Welcome to the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.

We post the Hatena Featured Artist every week on Wednesday, and hope to introduce a variety of different artists that will inspire and entertain you.

Be sure to check here every week to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!

Today's Hatena Featured Artist is Arigatou (id:azinohiraki300) from Japan.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

This is my first year using Flipnote Hatena. I call myself Arigatou (which means "thank you" in Japanese).

What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?

Recently I have been busy making snakes from papier-mache. 2013 is the year of the snake, and I want to give these snakes as presents to my family and friends to celebrate the new year. On my days off I like spending time at home, or wandering around the town where I live.

Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.

★ This is the first animation where I added my own ukulele music. I like the way this ends.

★ This is based on a dream I had about a mammoth frozen in ice. The mammoth's eyes came out nicely.

★ This is about how it is fun to make sounds with your mouth, but even more fun to use your voice to tell something to another person.

★ I made this about "Little People", and wanted to express their desperation.

★ I made this animation to mark being added to the favorites list of more than 50 people. I would like to thank everyone who has added me.

★ This is a Flipnote I made together with ♪ (id:ken-703). I had a great time making this, and hope to collaborate with this creator again in the future.

What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?

I enjoy drawing the facial expressions of people, and think that I am talented at that.

What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve, try, or learn to do in order make your Flipnotes better?

Making things move smoothly is something I struggle with that is difficult for me.

Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Flipnote Hatena and tell us why you like them or their Flipnotes.

★ The drawings and sounds by ♪ (id:ken-703) are my absolute favorites.

★ I really like the soft feeling of the drawings by Chise (id:chise--1240).

★ The facial expressions of the characters in the Flipnotes by Tom are extremely cute.

★ I love the funny movements of the cats in the animations by Poke-chan (id:chan-poke).

Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?

Flipnotes are a fantastic tool to express any little ideas you have inside of you. I plan to continue having fun making Flipnotes and keep posting new ones. Lastly, I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who has taken the time to watch my animations.
