Welcome to the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.

We post the Hatena Featured Artist every week on Wednesday, and hope to introduce a variety of different artists that will inspire and entertain you.

Be sure to check here every week to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!

Today's Hatena Featured Artist is PickyEater (id:AnotherPickyEater) from the Americas region.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

Hey there! My name is Carrie. I'm a 19-year-old college art student in Georgia. This summer I'll complete my degree in fine arts, and then I hope to work towards a bachelor's degree in illustration. I currently have an exhilarating job as a cashier in a clothing store. I also have my own little "zoo"! I have 2 dogs (a pekingese named Junie and a spaniel named Muffin), 2 cats (Dillon and Hobo), and a little slider turtle named George. We are one big happy family!

What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?

I find joy in many different things. My biggest interest though is drawing. I someday hope to be an illustrator for children's books! I also enjoy fashion, animals, eating cheesecake, smiling, collecting things, and embarrassing my brother while he's hanging out with his girlfriend.

Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.

★ "A Mouse Serenade" - Out of all my flipnotes, this remains my favorite. I love small animals and the whimsy that surrounds them!

★ "Mouse Ballet!"

★ "Balloon Letter" - You don't always need words in order to tell a story!

★ "No Sleep for Me" - I had so much fun with this. The dog in this flip is Junie, my pekingese. She ALWAYS makes sure I have a difficult time going to sleep! ;-)

★ This is an older flipnote without a title. I really enjoyed making the designs in the landscape.

What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?

More than anything, I enjoy making my viewers laugh or smile. I almost always try to bring emotion into my animations so that they are more engaging! I like to tell stories with my artwork and my music.

What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve, try, or learn to do in order make your Flipnotes better?

I have a LOT to practice on when it comes to animating. I hope to improve especially on adding more motion to my animations. I also need to start being more active here and creating flipnotes more frequently!

Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Flipnote Hatena, and tell us why you like them or their Flipnotes.

I have so many favorite creators for so many different reasons that I dare not try to list them all! There are so many wonderful, talented, and friendly artists in this community. I can find inspiration everywhere I look! :-)

Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?

Although I haven't had much time to animate since I started college last year, the time I have spent here has taught me so much! Never in a million years did I think I'd ever be able to do animation, but new doors were opened when I joined the Flipnote community. I've loved each second! Thank you to all of my friends and followers for the wonderful support and inspiration you've given me over the years! I appreciate it so much and hope to see y'all soon! I'm honored to be this week's featured artist! :-)
