Please introduce yourself and tell us about your Flipnotes
Hi, my name is Simon and I live in England.
I get ideas for my Flipnotes from what I see around me, such as from nature and television. I usually start with a complicated idea and then have to simplify it in order to really create it. It usually takes me anything from several hours a day to a few days to finish one of my Flipnotes, and a lot of that time is just for thinking and planning.
What hobbies or interests do you have (besides making Flipnotes)?
I like watching animation (especially Studio Ghibli films), playing computer games, martial arts and walking in the countryside.
Who are some of your favorite creators on Flipnote Hatena and why?
I enjoy Flipnotes made by katt (id:katt2), id:Trudi who has a funny toe character, and Ian (id:ianshaw33) who makes Flipnotes based on Studio Ghibli films.
Do you have any advice or tips for other Flipnote creators about how they can improve their skills?
I recommend that you keep your Flipnotes simple and fun. I think that you can make better creations when you are having fun. A good idea is the most important thing, and your drawing and animation is secondary because it will get better with practice.
What kind of Flipnotes would you like to create in the future? Are there any new things you would like to try?
I would like to create more fun Flipnotes, and maybe some serious ones too. When I watch other peoples' Flipnotes I often get inspired to try something new. I would also like to improve my use of sounds and also try adding music to my Flipnotes.
What are some additional features that you would like to have added to Flipnote Studio and/or Flipnote Hatena?
Some useful features might be a zoom function for editing small details and an option to copy/cut layer 1 and layer 2 at the same time with the select command.
Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?
