Flipnote Hatena Weekly News: September 3, 2010

Hello from all of us on the Flipnote Hatena team. This is Aaron at Hatena's offices in Kyoto, Japan with another edition of our weekly news blog.

September is here again, and the summer is coming to an end in Japan. People all around the world are going back to school, or finishing their summer holidays away from work. We hope that you all had a great summer, and that you were able to create some new memories this year.

We've been busy checking all of your Flipnote Hatena 1st Anniversary contest entries, and have been very impressed by all of the excellent Flipnotes we've seen so far. If you haven't yet posted your contest entry Flipnote, please hurry up because there is less than 24 hours left to post your work.

1) Tap on the “Help” button from the top menu of Flipnote Hatena for Nintendo DSi.

2) Tap on “Flipnote Hatena 1st Anniversary Contest” in the System Additions and News section.

Final day of the Flipnote Hatena 1st Anniversary Contest

The final deadline to submit your Flipnotes will be at 11:59 pm on September 3rd, 2010 Los Angeles, California time (PDT). If you haven't posted your Flipnotes yet, please hurry up and get them posted.

We plan to announce the contest winners late in the evening of September 5, 2010 (Sunday) Los Angeles (PDT) time. Please keep checking back here for the latest information.


New limited edition themes: Sea Life Collection

From now until September 16, 2010 (Thursday), you'll get one chance to win a prize for every 10 stars you exchange for themes in the Color Star Exchange. If you're lucky you might win the weekly limited edition theme.

This week's limited edition theme is "Seahorse" which is available until September 9, 2010.

The Flipnote team has created two new Creator's Room themes that are available in the Color Star Exchange this week. Below are some screenshots and details about the new themes.

★ A monster truck and a rubber ducky join together in this Flipnote by Kelton (id:ToasterWaffle).

This week's topic: "Time" (9/3/2010 - 9/10/2010)

For this week's topic we would like to create Flipnotes about the concept of time. What does time mean to you? How do you spend your time? What is the importance of time? Create Flipnotes about the passage of time, or about having too little or too much time. You could also try to tell the story of a person or a place over time, or even make a Flipnote featuring a time machine. You might also want to create Flipnotes with clocks, hourglasses and sundials to express time. See where your creativity takes you! We're looking forward to seeing your Flipnotes, and will feature some of the best ones next week here in the Flipnote Hatena Weekly News. Post the Flipnotes you create to channel 7 from Flipnote Hatena on your Nintendo DSi.
