Please introduce yourself.
Hi, my creator name on Flipnote Hatena is FDD. I live in Kanagawa prefecture in Japan, where I work as a freelance designer and illustrator. My creator name "FDD" is the same as the name of my company.
How do you get ideas for your Flipnotes?
I get almost all of my ideas during free time I have between my projects at work. I love my job, however, drawing as a job and drawing for fun is different. The busier I am, the more ideas I get.
What hobbies or interests do you have (besides making Flipnotes)?
I like going out to take pictures, and also playing games. Since I am working from home, I try to go outside often and see lots of things and get some inspiration. Recently, I enjoy playing and drawing with my friends' children, and I get inspired by hearing the ideas that they have.
What kind of Flipnotes would you like to create in the future? Are there any new things you would like to try?
The basic concept of making Flipnotes is to create drawings that move, so I tend to think that I have to include motion in my work. However, Flipnotes without motion, or those made using the camera function, or with only music are fun too. There are still many different kinds of Flipnotes that I would like to make.
Recently, I've been taking a lot of time to create the 4th Flipnote in my series of "Book Review" Flipnotes. In the future, I would like to simply use the functions of Flipnote Studio to create fun Flipnotes without spoken words or text. Creating Flipnotes makes me happy, and if I can make even just one other person happy through my work, I will be satisfied!
What Nintendo DSi games have you played recently and which one is your all-time favorite?
I have played many RPG games and other games that are poopular overseas. I have been enjoying "Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 4", "Etrian Odyssey 3", and I recently bought "Call of Duty Modern Warfare". Also, I've become interested in the game "Scribblenauts" after seeing the artist Edison Yan featured on the PAX 2009 page on Flipnote Hatena.
I also enjoy collecting monsters in the game "Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2" with my friends or people I met online.
Is there anyone that you would like to greet or something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?
Flipnote Studio is a one of a kind tool that allows us to create all kinds of amazing animations. I hope to continue to get inspired and entertained by the Flipnotes that I see on Flipnote Hatena, and that my Flipnotes can bring enjoyment and creativity to other people too.
