Earlier this week Nintendo began the "Make Your Own Mario Flipnote" special event on Flipnote Hatena for users in the Americas region. This event is taking place from October 18th, 2010 - November 19, 2010 and you can post Flipnotes to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. to take part.

This week we have selected some of the best Flipnotes from around the world about the topic of "Manufacturing". We hope that you enjoy the Flipnotes we chose, and thanks to all of you who took part.
For this week's topic we'd like you to get into the spirit of Halloween by creating Flipnotes to celebrate this very special holiday. We are looking forward to seeing what you can come up with!
We'll also be celebrating Halloweeen at Hatena with our annual Halloween costume party, and I will feature some photos of our staff here in the blog next week (on the website only).

New limited edition themes: Halloween Collection
From now until November 5, 2010 (Friday), you'll get one chance to win a prize for every 10 stars you exchange for themes in the Color Star Exchange. If you're lucky you might win a limited edition theme or limited edition simple theme.
The limited edition theme and the limited edition simple theme will change every Friday, so be sure to check here every week!
This week's limited edition theme and limited edition simple theme both feature ghosts, and are available until October 29, 2010.

This week's topic: "Halloween" (10/22/2010 - 10/29/2010)
For this week's topic we'd like you create Flipnotes about Halloween. Animate stories about Halloween and capture the spirit of this once-a-year event in your own unique way. Think of things like costumes, trick-or-treating, witches, warlocks, ghosts, goblins, jack-o-lanterns, skeletons, and (of course) candy for inspiration. Please have fun with this week's topic and see where your creativity takes you!
We're looking forward to seeing your Flipnotes, and will feature some of the best ones next week here in the Flipnote Hatena Weekly News. Post the Flipnotes you create to channel 7 from Flipnote Hatena on your Nintendo DSi.
