Please tell us about yourself.
Hey everyone! My name is PinkDSi. I started making Flipnotes in October 2009. I don't have a specific style for my Flipnotes because I like variety!
What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?
I love to draw and my favorite places to go are amusement parks.
Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.
★ "Confused Puppy" - I really enjoyed making this Flipnote, it was featured for the Weekly Topic "Mirrors". I wanted to try something a little different, so instead of drawing every detail of the puppy, I decided to make it a silhouette. It took about 4 days to make.
★ "Driving" - This Flipnote was recently featured as Flipnote of the week. I took pictures as fast as I could while riding in the passenger seat of my car. I didn't think it would turn out very well, but now it's one of my favorite Flipnotes!
★ "Horse With Hat" - This idea just came out of no where. I already had the animation of the horse galloping, then I added in the horse picking up and wearing the hat.
★ "Thirsty Butterfly" - I took pics of a butterfly and edited and animated it.
★ "Diving Dolphin" - This is an extended version of a Flipnote I had made in the past. I made it longer for the Weekly Topic Swimming, and it was also featured! I made it within 1 day.
★ "Patriotic Pony" - I made this Flipnote for the Independence Day. I recorded real fireworks for the sound. There's a lot going on all at once in this Flipnote! The American flag, fireworks, and a galloping horse in the middle of it all!
What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes? And what are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve?
I feel I'm good at animating animals and making smooth looping Flipnotes. I'm also good at making music for Flipnotes. Though I haven't posted many yet, I'm making a lot of Flipnotes featuring my own original songs which I plan to use in future Flipnotes!
One thing I could use is more time and patience to make longer, and more detailed Flipnotes. I feel I have the potential to make better Flipnotes than I do now, though I often don't have the time it would take, so I end up posting unfinished Flipnotes. I'd also like to learn how to draw people. I have many ideas for Flipnotes that would require this skill, but right now it's one I don't have!
Please introduce some of your favorite Flipnote Hatena artists
★ I love cosmasque (id:cosmasque)'s drawing style, she's always very creative in her Flipnote ideas. Her Flipnotes are always very well drawn and very well animated, so it's surprising to me how fast she's able to post her Flipnotes!
★ I like the way FreedomMare (id:FreedomHorse) draws horses. She mostly posts art, but it's a lot of fun to see her amazing drawings!
★ I really like the Flipnotes by Juanita (id:jalapenoflower). She has different varieties of Flipnotes, and it's always fun to see what she comes up with next. She's
also very good at drawing people, something I'm not very good at!
★ DingPoodle (id:CitrusHappy)'s Flipnotes are really funny, and I like her/his way of animating. I'm surprised this creator isn't more popular!
Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?
I'd like to thank everyone for all of the stars and nice comments. Also, I see lots of creators who say they're going to quit making Flipnotes because they feel they aren't popular enough, but that's not what making Flipnotes and Hatena is all about, right? Just have fun! I know everyone wants to become popular creators, but it won't happen over a night. I never thought I'd be a featured artist, but here I am!
It would also be nice to see more people adding stars to the Flipnotes that people worked so hard on. People are always saying downloads don't cost stars, but if you enjoy the work of a creator, I believe they deserve a few stars!
