Hello Flipnote Hatena! This is Aaron in Kyoto, Japan with the latest in Flipnote news from around the world.

Flipnote Studio was released in Japan on December 24, 2008, and this Saturday will mark the third anniversary of the launch of the service. We would like to thank all of our users for your support over the past three years, and are looking forward to your continued enjoyment of Flipnote Hatena.

This will be the last edition of the Flipnote Hatena Weekly News this year. Thank you all for your support and readership in 2011.

Best wishes to everyone in the Flipnote Hatena community for a happy and healthy 2012, from all of us at Hatena!

This week's topic: "Dragons"

2012 will be the year of the dragon on the Chinese zodiac. The Chinese zodiac uses a 12-year cycle of animals to express years, and is used in many places in Asia.

The year of the dragon comes once every twelve years. For the next two weeks we would like you to celebrate the new year by creating Flipnotes about dragons.

Please submit your weekly topic Flipnotes by midnight on January 5, 2011 (Thursday) US Pacific Time, and we will feature some of our favorites on January 6, 2012 (Friday).
