Today's Hatena Featured Artist is Dullbloke (id:Dullbedsitblogger) from the Europe and Oceania region.
Please tell us about yourself.
I am a 40 year old guy living in the seaside town of Brighton in the UK. I work as a care worker with learning disabled adults. I live in a small bedsit. I am a bit dull which is why I am Dullbloke or The Dullbedsitblogger.
What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?
In my spare time, I like to make videos and post them on the internet. I make short films, music videos and videos about my life and what I am doing. I also make music. I have a solo electronic music project called Nil By Nose. I am not really sure how to describe it but some people have described it as experimental Trip Hop. I also have a couple of group projects called The Las Vegas Mermaids (theatrical surreal live performance Band) and The Large Veiny Members (improvised electronic music). I like to do a bit of painting (this is where my Silverman character was born). I just generally enjoy the creative process.
Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.
★ "Street Silverman" - I am sort of obsessed with Graffiti art, so I thought I would bring a bit of street art to Flipnote. My girlfriend took photos of me miming doing graffiti against a wall which got some rather strange looks from people walking by!
★ "Skijump" - I did this for the 'Weekly Topic: Snow fun'. The nose is my girlfriend's. I was very proud when it was described as Monty Pythonesque! I am a big fan of Terry Gilliam and the way he sees the world in cartoons and films.
★ "Silverman Name Spit" - I like the kind of scratchy messiness of this Silverman. Things emerging from his mouth is a reoccurring theme for Sliverman. People have asked who is Silverman and why Silverman?. To be honest, I am not really sure who and why, and that is really up to the viewer!
★ "Heavy Hat" - I made this Flipnote for the 'Weekly Topic: Heavy'. It was the first weekly topic I took part in. I made the music, and the crashing sound is me shaking the cutlery drawer.
★ "Buzzing Mind" - When I started drawing this Flipnote, I had no idea of what to draw or where the animation was going to go. I thought I would just relax and see where it goes.
★ "Dada or Dadaist" - I like the silliness and depth of this loop. Is the character Dada or a Dadaist. The character is not my father so it is not my Dada. Is he a part of the Dadaist art movement? Is the loop a Dadaist statement? Probably not. A Dadaist would not use a piece of technology to create art. Or would they? Wow, so deep! Ha ha ha ha!
★ "Guess the Sound" - I like the interaction aspect of the internet, so I thought I would make this guessing game Flipnote. Here is a clue - it is not a washing machine!
What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?
I think my strength is that I look at the world in a slightly strange way, and I can see things that other people might not notice.
What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve?
I would like to perfect using photos in my Flipnotes. I would also like to work with a bit more precision and draw cleaner and more consistent lines. I would also like to get the sound a bit cleaner and dynamic. But I think a lot of those things will come with experimentation and practice.

This is tricky, I am relatively new on Flipnote Hatena. There are so many great artists and people with interesting ideas here!
★ josecandel (id:goomer) - His style is so strong! It just amazes me what he can do with a Nintendo DSi!
★ geezer (id:geezerdk) - Very funny Cartoons!
★ katt (id:katt2) - Great Flipnotes, and she made me feel very welcome to the adult Flipnote Hatena community.
★ mrjohn (id:mrjohn) - Such a clean style and a master with photos!
There are so many artists. Every time I get on Flipnote Hatena, I find something interesting funny or just weird!

Thank you everyone for looking at my Flipnotes and giving me stars! Thank you Hatena for picking me to be a featured artist. I'm still a noob and will endeavour to get better as I experiment and practice. I am going to be sticking around and having lots of fun!
