Welcome to the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.

We post the Hatena Featured Artist every week on Wednesday, and hope to introduce a variety of different artists that will inspire and entertain you.

Be sure to check here every week to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!

Today's Hatena Featured Artist is teru (id:teroon) from Japan.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I am a woman with two daughters who are both in senior high school. I started drawing many years ago, and it is something that I really enjoy.

What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?

In my free time I like to draw, make Flipnotes or play games. Sometimes I make accessories such as bracelets, and clothes for dolls and our cat and dog. I also like to read books and comics. I have so many unread books that I need to finish!

Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.

★ "Ten Ten" - In this Flipnote I tried to match the animation with the sound. This is one of my first Flipnotes and I was happy with the result.

★ "Peeking Sushi" - This is the Flipnote I got most stars for (Thank you!). I was thinking about how I could make sushi move, and this is the result. After making this Flipnote I became hungry, so I went out for some sushi.

★ "Happy Halloween" - I often make Flipnotes that have a string of repetitive movements with a twist. You can try this method yourself, and it might help you come up with some new ideas.

★ "Polar Airlines" - I made this Flipnote for the Weekly Topic: North Pole/ South Pole. My husband helped me out with this Flipnote so it turned out a little bit different than my other animations. I am not completely satisfied with the way I drew the magnetic fields.

★ "Northern Wind" - This Flipnote is based on a Japanese song, but I think non-Japanese speakers can still understand it. I tried to show someone picking a fight with the wind. This Flipnote was a battle to make, but it was an enjoyable one.

★ "Dragon 2012" - This Flipnote has some Japanese in it, but I think you can still enjoy it. Many people believe that dragons are big, handsome and strong. I wanted to make something that does not fit this image, so I made a young, relaxed dragon who writes new year cards. I had quite some difficulty thinking up ways to include the other animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?

I guess I am good at animation.

What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve, try, or learn to do in order make your Flipnotes better?

I am not good at drawing detailed pictures. I wonder how other creators can make their single dot lines so beautiful.

Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Flipnote Hatena and tell us why you like them or their Flipnotes.

Itokichikun (id:wakasuga) has a great drawing style with ingenious twists that I really like.

Michi (id:teccha) always comes up with new styles and ideas that others have not done yet.

Hayato (id:kame8810) makes very precise animations that everyone can enjoy.

kengo (id:kengokengo) must be having fun while making these Flipnotes. I really like his bird animations.

Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?

Thank you for watching my Flipnotes. I am not always able to give a reply on all of the comments, but when I see the number of views I am grateful. I hope you will continue to enjoy my Flipnotes!
