Hello, this is Aaron at Hatena in Kyoto, Japan bringing you the latest news about what is happening in the Flipnote Hatena community.
This week in Kyoto there is a festival called the Gion Matsuri, which is one of the biggest festivals in Japan. Many of the Hatena staff will be wearing Japanese summer kimono called 'yukata' and enjoying the excellent view of the festival from our office windows. What kinds of festivals and special events do you enjoy in the summer in your parts of the world?
Here in Japan the weather during the summer is extremely humid, and we are often troubled by mosquitoes and other insects. The new weekly topic is about some of these uninvited summer guests. Keep reading to find out more!

This week's topic: 'Mosquitoes'
This week we would like you to create Flipnotes about mosquitoes. What do you do to keep mosquitoes away in your part of the world? Try to create stories about mosquitoes looking for a meal, people running away from mosquitoes, or people feeling itchy after being bitten by mosquitoes. Make animations with the buzzing sounds of mosquitoes, or about mosquitoes buzzing in peoples ears. Don't forget to apply some bug spray before you sit down and start animating. See where your creativity takes you!
