Welcome to the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.

We post the Hatena Featured Artist every week on Wednesday, and hope to introduce a variety of different artists that will inspire and entertain you.

Be sure to check here every week to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!

Today's Hatena Featured Artist is △Yukkie (id:yukkie-triangle) from Japan.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

Hello! I like to create animations and songs, and make animations about rabbits.

What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?

I like to write poems and create my own songs. Sometimes I spend my whole day playing music.

Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.

★ "Afternoon Cinderella" - In this animation Cinderella transforms and meets a prince. I think I was able to express the mood in this Flipnote well.

★ "Spirit and Body" - I thought it would be cute if a spirit appears from a character's mouth. I tried to give the spirit some expressions and movements.

★ "Cold Paper Plane" - After I made this song, these images came to my mind. This is my longest animation, and I had some difficulties making smooth movement.

★ "Slowly Waking Rabbit" - This is one of my early Flipnotes. I think the movements turned out well.

★ "Hour Glass of Summer in the Wind" - I made this animation to go along with a poem I wrote about the passage of time.

★ "In the Same Future" - I have tried many ways to visualize my poetry with Flipnotes. The message here is to keep going forward in life, even when things are not going well.

What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?

I think I am good at using my music and lyrics in my animations. I enjoy combining my drawings and songs to create something like a music video. I try to not only write pretty words, but also include a message that will make people think.

What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve, try, or learn to do in order make your Flipnotes better?

I get bored easily, so I am not good at making long and elaborate animations. I would like to improve my drawing skills and make more detailed backgrounds.

Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Flipnote Hatena and tell us why you like them or their Flipnotes.

Kiton (id:natsubanohitsuji) has interesting ideas and makes cute characters.

Procchi (id:ProTein) creates his own songs that are all masterpieces, and animates characters well.

Otonohaco (id:otonohaco) makes unique stories that have a warm and fuzzy feeling like a picture book.

Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?

The great thing about Flipnote Studio is that you can make anything you want easily. It is nice to make animations that become popular and create spin-offs from other Flipnotes, but it is far more enjoyable to experiment and try something new! Why not try to make some animations using your own poetry and songs?
