February 22, 2013: Flipnote Hatena Weekly News

f:id:flipnotehatena:20100205181131p:image

Hello, this is Aaron at Hatena in Kyoto, Japan with the latest news about Flipnote Hatena.

People often write to us asking how to improve their animation skills. One important piece of advice is to practice drawing and study about motion.

To improve your drawing skills you could take a drawing class at a local school, visit a museum and look at drawings and paintings, or borrow some books from a library about drawing.

To better understand motion, you can observe how people move and talk, visit a zoo and study how animals move, or try watching television with the sound turned off and just look at the images.

Animation is about creating the illusion of motion and life. There will always be new tools for drawing and animating, but the key things to be a good animator is to be able to draw well and understand how to express motion.

Lastly, it also important share your work with others and get their feedback. Many animators around the world use Flipnote Hatena specifically for this purpose -- we are happy to have featured so many excellent animators since Flipnote Hatena began on December 24, 2008.

Thanks for checking out the news blog, from all of us at Hatena.
