Hello, this is Aaron at Hatena in Kyoto, Japan with the latest news about Flipnote Hatena.
The first weekly topic we posted for users in the Americas and Europe and Oceania regions was "Say Hello to the World" on August 14, 2009. Since then we have had over 187 weekly topics, and never done the same topic twice.
One of my favorite things about working at Hatena is watching everyone's Flipnotes about the weekly topics -- it really makes coming to work everyday fun! Last time I checked, I have added over 33,900 stars to Flipnotes, and most of those were Flipnotes posted for the weekly topics.
There are still over 2 months left for us to enjoy Flipnote Hatena together, and I hope that everyone can continue to develop new animation skills and come up with creative ideas. Even though Flipnote Hatena will be closing on May 31, 2013, I am certain that the animation skills and experiences we have here are something that will stay with us forever.
This Sunday many people around the world will be celebrating the holiday of Easter. The new topic this week ties in with this holiday, and I hope it inspires everyone to post some new Flipnotes.
Lastly, this week we added a new feature that allows you to upload your Flipnotes directly from the Flipnote Hatena website to YouTube. For more information please see the following page:
