March 17, 2010: Hatena Featured Artist - BOSS (id:Hate)

Welcome to the second edition of the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.

Every two weeks we post an interview with a talented creator on Flipnote Hatena, and include some information about their background, and the inspiration for their work.

Be sure to check back here every other Wednesday to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!

Today's Hatena Featured Artist is BOSS (id:Hate) from the Americas region.

Please tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Kevin. I'm a teenager residing in a small and peaceful city of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, known to be the most rainiest city in B.C. Becoming an animator has been a big dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and I hope one day I can turn that dream into a reality. Flipnote Hatena is the perfect way for me to express my animation skills.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time I'm often out being with my friends. And inside the house I work out regularly, spend time on the computer, and of course create Flipnotes.

How did you find about Flipnote Hatena?

Random streaming on YouTube.

How often do you use Flipnote Hatena?

I use Flipnote Hatena quite frequently actually, but when I'm creating a Flipnote I would spend around 1~3 hours a day on it.

What kind of Flipnotes do you want/like to create?

I enjoy creating Flipnotes that tell a story. This usually leads to creating a series which is pretty fun, but can be very time consuming.

Where do you get your inspiration for creating Flipnotes?

I'm inspired from watching and observing other stick fighting Flipnotes created by users from Japan on Hatena. Music has also helped.

Any final words or greetings?

Thank you everyone for being a fan of my work and supporting me throughout. If you have time, please check out my favorite creators and leave feedbacks, thanks!
