Welcome to the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.

We post the Hatena Featured Artist every week on Wednesday, and hope to introduce a variety of different artists that will inspire and entertain you.

Be sure to check here every week to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!

Today's Hatena Featured Artist is Kamara (id:inazumaereven07) from Japan.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

Hello, I am a 14 year old student from Japan. I love animals and have drawn pictures of them everyday since I was a child. These days I am learning to draw all sorts of things.

What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?

Recently I have been playing with Japanese cards called Hanafuda. I also like playing chess and poker. On my days off I like drawing various things, and taking care of my pet fish and turtle.

Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.

★ I had a difficult time to draw smooth movements since I am still a novice at animating. I tried to draw a white wolf, but it ended up looking more like an ordinary dog.

★ This is the first Flipnote I posted. The bird was cooked a golden brown color!

★ I wanted to draw splashing water, so I made this flopping-fish Flipnote. I was surprised by its popularity.

★ The character here blows a whistle and turns into a dog in this heartwarming Flipnote. Many people liked this, so I am thinking about making a sequel.

★ This Flipnote features my original character. I wanted to make a scary shark Flipnote, but if you look closely you will see it's cute!

★ The concept here is "out of the blue". This Flipnote is about the change of a situation. Don't try this at home!

What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes?

I am good at transforming pictures into different shapes. I often end up with totally different things than the pictures I started with.

What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve, try, or learn to do in order make your Flipnotes better?

My weak point is that I don't know anything about music, so I cannot create my own soundtracks. Also my handwriting is not so good.

Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Flipnote Hatena and tell us why you like them or their Flipnotes.

★ I often introduce the Flipnotes by Tankuroi (id:A722D0CC774C06) to my friends. This artist's work inspired me to start making my own animations.

Takuya\(°o°)/ (id:nakatanakata) makes Flipnotes with impact that anyone can enjoy.

Hatch (id:season02) makes really cool Flipnotes that I enjoy I watching in my free time.

Ribdestroyer (id:ribdestroyer) makes strange Flipnotes that always surprise me. The drawings are so good you might mistake them for photographs.

Is there something you would like to say to the Flipnote Hatena community?

If you can do something well from the start that is great. However, it is even better if you work hard and then become able to do something. I think nobody can do something well from the beginning. It is important to never give up, and to keep on trying until the end. Keep on trying and enjoy it!
