Hello, this is Aaron at Hatena in Kyoto, Japan bringing you the latest news about Flipnote Hatena.
September 10 was the last day for posting "Flipnote Hatena 3rd Anniversary Event" animations. Thanks to everyone for your submissions! We are now reviewing all of the Flipnotes and will show some of our favorites on September 19. Please note that we will not be posting the next edition of the "Hatena Featured Artist" until September 26.
Last week's topic was a lot of fun, and we had some unexpected Flipnotes posted because the word "kite" has more than one meaning in some languages. "Kites" can also refer to birds of prey in some languages, and in Japanese it has the same pronunciation as the word for "octopus". Don't be surprised if you see some bird or octopus characters in the weekly topic channel!
This week we are happy to present a new topic where you can have some fun with sounds. We hope this topic will inspire you to make some new Flipnotes, and are looking forward to seeing your creations!
Thanks for checking out the news blog, from all of us at Hatena.

This week's topic: "Voice"
This week we would like you to create Flipnotes featuring voices. Make animations with characters with funny, loud, quiet or unique voices. Animate stories about high-pitched voices breaking glass, or people making speeches. Make your own original soundtracks with your voice! Please remember that many people on Flipnote Hatena might not speak your language -- try to make stories that everyone can understand without relying upon words or text. See where your creativity takes you!
Please submit your weekly topic Flipnotes by 9:00 PM on September 20, 2012 (Thursday) US Pacific Time, and we will present some of our favorites on September 21, 2012 (Friday).
