Welcome to the Hatena Featured Artist section of our blog, where we introduce Flipnote creators from around the world.

We post the Hatena Featured Artist every week on Wednesday, and hope to introduce a variety of different artists that will inspire and entertain you.

Be sure to check here every week to see some of the most amazing artists on Flipnote Hatena. Maybe we'll even feature you someday!

Today's Hatena Featured Artist is Nanana (id:namiltuke) from Japan.

★ "Making Cookies"

Please introduce yourself.

Hello everyone, my name is Nanana. I love creating Flipnotes, especially, "kawaii" ones. ("kawaii" means cute in Japanese!)

★ "Beans Battle (Setsubun)"

How do you get ideas for your Flipnotes, and how long does it usually take you to create them?

I usually get my ideas while watching anime movies, talking with my family and friends, or from looking at pictures or at the scenery around me. Before I create Flipnotes, I try to gather all the ideas in my head and then free them while I draw.

★ "Box Sledding"

I try to finish making my Flipnotes without stopping, and it usually takes me only a few hours. Sometimes when I want to add more details or create longer Flipnotes, it will take me few days, or maybe even a few weeks.

★ "Bubble"

What hobbies or interests do you have (besides making Flipnotes)?

I love drawing and painting, and music. Lately, I've been having fun listening to many different kinds of music.

★ "Dream of Becoming a Chef"

Do you have any advice or tips for other Flipnote creators about how they can improve their skills?

If you carefully observe your surroundings you can find many things that will inspire you. You can also learn more about how things move just by looking, which is important to improve your animation skills. Also, I recommend using your imagination to make something that looks and moves in interesting ways, and to try to create things that you can't see in real life. I think doing these things will help you to make better Flipnotes.

★ "Dive!"

What kind of Flipnotes would you like to create in the future? Are there any new things you would like to try?

I'd like to improve my animation skills and to create Flipnotes that move more smoothly. I want to take more time and be more precise with every frame that I draw. I would like to someday make Flipnotes that can play back smoothly at speed 7 or 8. I also hope that my Flipnotes that can be enjoyed by people all over the world.

★ "Cherry Blossoms in the Spring"
